What I like about the shoe: it feels sturdy, well made, and it is comfortable. It fit me well once the ankle cushion was broken in. I also like that the shoe is 100% leather.

What I don't like: fake discounts. The shoe is advertised at 35% off, or $100. I think the pricing point is within the range of similar walking shoes, so it has hard for me to know whether this is a genuine discount or not. There is another Keen shoe 'Targhee 3 Oxford Casual Hiking Shoe' which is made of textile & synthetic material which sells for $64, so $100 for an all leather model is not unreasonable. $155 seems high ($100 after 35% off), so it makes me question whether the discount is real.

If I remember, I will update this review in a year or two with comments about durability.

I bought these when I was looking for a pair of shoes for an challenging upcoming hike, and they were perfect in every way! Even better - they were comfy right out of the box. I wore them for about 2 weeks prior to my hike, and the fit was perfect. I wear size 13 wide.

I can see myself wearing these as both my everyday shoes, and for many more upcoming hikes. They did well on both uphill and downhill rock scrambles, wet surfaces, and hiking through wet areas. Huge thumbs up for me.

I do a LOT of walking, much of it in urban areas but also on trails. I have heard about the KEEN shoes for years, and I finally got a pair late in 2023. (The pair I purchased more recently from Amazon was to replace that earlier pair.)

The news is mostly good. They are very comfortable shoes, and I especially appreciate the roomy toe area. The uppers are solid and stand up to mud and water — I've used them for long walks in rain. The thickness and stiffness of the sole is just right for me — not too stiff for the urban walking, but providing enough cushion and stiffness for hiking on trails, including somewhat rough trails. The little loop at the heel is actually useful when putting the shoes on. The lacing system is straightforward and effective. The shoes were comfortable right out of the box and remained so.

I would like to mention two issue that buyers should be aware of. First, like many similar shoes, the removable cushioned insoles are not very durable. After six months of use or a bit less the fabric on top of the insoles began to wear and I had to replace them. More concerning to me is that the soles wore down significantly after six months, to the point that all of the heel tread was gone and a hole revealed the underlying (and less protective) inner foam layer. Unfortunately, the soles are not replaceable.

In fairness, I walk a lot and I do wear shoes out this way. But do be aware of this if you purchase this shoe.

These are absolutely amazing, very cushioned shoes. I actually first bought these out of desperation, as I vacationed to Florida for the theme parks and didn’t pack good enough shoes to get me through all the walking there. Ended up stopping at a shoe store and had these recommended to me by the store’s staff.

This might sound dramatic, but I promise it’s true - thanks to these shoes (and that shoe expert’s recommendation to buy them), my vacation was saved. I didn’t wear the other shoes the rest of the time I was vacationing.

I was able to put 30 miles on these straight out of the box, just walking around. I get 10K steps a day and they’ve been my “daily drivers” since early March.

I was excited to run in them once I got home. I tried 3 times to do 5Ks in these, but the cushioning is so big, it gave me shin splints each time. If you like superfluous cushioning in your running shoes, this has wayyyyy more than Brooks Glycerin or Ghost Max. Like I said in the title: perfect for me for walking, hence my 5 stars, but they’re not going to be in my actual running shoe rotation.

Also, to address the other reviews that said they had issues with rips in the shoe - I have over 300 miles on these now and I have zero issues with that. They’re getting pretty dirty, but I feel like you'd have to really abuse these to rip them.

This shoes works very well. For a heavier fellow with wide feet, the amount of support and bounciness that the shoe delivers is terrific. The is nearly the same after a few months of heavy use and no rips in the toe area yet. Great for someone not in shape to transition into being active again. The fit is great, the material is light, breathable and dries easily.

The foam l, unfortunately, is not as durable and has started to shave off after a week of use. If you’re worried that the foam looks ridiculously thick in the product photo worry not, it’s not as thick when you see it in person.

I order Puma Men's Tazon shoes every winter for my hubby as a gift. He loves these shoes! We always order the Tazon line (different colors and styles of Tazon). After months of searching and trying over 25+ pairs of shoes, he finally found a style that works. We've been buying the Tazon line for 3 years now!

The quality of this line is great. He wears them almost daily and they hold up well. The last pair after 9 months of wearing them (daily) the only wear we saw was inside the shoe where the back of his ankle hits. The support of the shoe after about a year of wearing them almost daily obviously isn't as good as before, but he always says they're still comfortable. Shoes for him are hard to find since most are uncomfortable for his feet and don't fit correctly. At one point a few years ago we'd tried over 25+ pairs of sneakers (various stores, brands, styles in the same brands, etc) and he couldn't wear any of them! We'd even tried other Pumas with no luck.

It was so frustrating and extremely frustrating for him. You see, we'd been through this with dressier shoes as well, tried on a lot. He wanted to give up. Well I'd seen an add for the Puma Tazons and after about an hour of convincing him I got him to try them on. Typically he can tell if a shoe won't work for him the moment he tries them on or walks in them for less than ten seconds. I'd ordered his size and also half a size up. He put them on, walked around and from the look on his face I could tell they worked for him. I will say that he is always a 9, but for this shoe the 9 1/2 fit better for him, so you might want to try the half size up if your regular size doesn't feel right when you try them on. I love how the Tazon line has a bunch of styles and colors too! I've recommended this shoe to a lot of people and will continue to do.

If I had my way I'd order a vast amount of colors and styles, but he isn't someone who likes to wear a bunch of different shoes. I did get two pairs this holiday season and told him he's going to alternate to change it up.
