Asics has done a great job bringing back the original fit of the Kayano. I am a fit heavier runner at 215 lbs and run between 6 to 10 miles a week for cardio. I have had a previous bout with knee issues and PF, so good running shoes are a must for me. So far, the Kayano 25's have been everything Asics said they would be. They run true to size without the toe box being cramped, provide plenty of cushioning from toe to heel with good responsiveness from the new dual-layered sole, and are very comfortable! You can't go wrong with these!

I've been wearing Gel Kayano shoes for the last 4 years. I wear them for work where I spend pretty much all day on my feet (an ER nurse). Kayano 22s were amazing and then the Kayanos got worse and worse. The 24s were absolutely horrible and hurt my feet. Well, Gel Kayano 25s are a return to form and extremely comfortable. The toe box is just right, good cushion on the tongue and heel, and good support. Absolutely 0 break-in period required. Paired them with some Superfeet Blues and my feet (and legs) are happy again.

Asics Gel-Kayano looks great and is the only brand/product that I comfortably can say fit my feet perfectly every time and let me run without any of my feet start aching. Technically Asics Gel-Kayano is a great running shoe, fits the feet well, gives great support to your feet when running and the "gel" technology protects the knees! Most other shoes from other vendors give me problems one way or another when running.

The only drawback with Asics Gel-Kayano in general (though not with this pair yet) - which to me is an annoying and unnecessary issue but has been consistent over the last five-six years and my approximately 15th pairs of Asics - is that each Asics Gel-Kayano pair does not look good for long. After a relatively short period of time (frequently only a month in of using them) a hole will start appearing in the upper part of the shoe covering your toes (hole in the mesh toe cap). I wish Asics would recognize and correct this flaw because the hole in the toe cap look bad in an otherwise almost new shoe (and people who don't have Asics frequently ask what has happened) but it is the same issue every time and has happened to all my previous pairs over the years but it has never happened to any other brand I have used. I have pointed out this issue (flaw) directly to Asics but the reference to the warranty and I did send one pair once that I got replaced and they only lasted one month again before it was a new hole in one of the shoes again. I had shoes replaced twice but who has time to continuously send the shoes in for warranty replacement only to get a new pair with the same issue? However, even with the holes, the shoes can be used (and the only one that I feel comfortable with) but this issue is annoying and the shoes look bad almost immediately (see a photo of my previous pair - not the latest).

In short, the Asics Gel-Kayano is a great running shoe that fits your feet well, providing excellent stability and support for your feet and they are a savior for your knees but don't expect them to look good or last for long.

Product description

Originally made for frozen pitches, the men’s Samba shoes dig into the archives for inspiration. They feature a sleek suede upper with contrasting suede overlays, contrasting 3-Stripes, and a pivot-point rubber outsole for grip. For tight fit, go one size down. For a loose fit, go one size up. How to measure-1.Place a piece of paper on a hard floor with one end against the wall. Place their feet on the piece of paper with their heel against the wall.2. Mark the piece of paper where your toes end with a pencil for both feet. It's easier if you let someone help you with this.3. Measure your marking from the heel to the longest toe for both feet. Take the highest value and compare it to our sizing chart. Synthetic leather upper for lightweight and durability. Die-cut EVA insole for lightweight comfort.

There's a reason this legendary indoor shoe still sells like mad. Perfection never goes out of style. Its soft leather upper and low-profile gum rubber outsole give the elite player ultimate control.

adidas is a name that stands for excellence in all sectors of sport around the globe. The vision of company founder Adolf Dassler has become a reality, and his corporate philosophy has been the guiding principle for successor generations. The idea was as simple as it was brilliant: to provide every athlete with the best possible equipment. It all began in 1920 when Adi Dassler made his first shoes using the few materials available after the First World War. Today, the Adidas product range extends from shoes, apparel, and accessories for basketball, soccer, fitness, and training to adventure, trail, and golf.

Question: Is this an authentic item?
Answer: Depends. I ordered this twice: a year ago and last week. A year ago, they were authentic. The order from last week, not authentic. Authentic Adidas come in a branded blue Adidas box, paper material in the shoe for form, the laces partially-threaded, and the final bit of laces are tied and an Adidas tag looped through one of the lace holes. The order last year was exactly that. The order from last week is a generic brown box, no inner-shoe support paper, no Adidas tag, the laces were threaded through all the holes and untied (possibly this product was used and returned)

I wore Sambas in my late teens (I'm now 39 years old). I'm convinced that either my feet didn't matter to me as much back then (I also lived in Doc Marten's year-round and in any weather conditions, so I was probably just "tougher" back then :P )....or that they have SEVERELY changed the insole in these shoes over the years. I don't recall having any gripes with them back then.

I bought a pair at an Adidas outlet several years back. Tried them on, and although the arch-support felt awfully "high" and stiff to me...I didn't think much of it. I figured I'd get used to them in time. Wore them the whole next day, and when I got home...I literally felt like my instep was bruised. I seriously threw the shoes in the trash that night because I was so irritated with them.

Flash-forward to about 2 weeks ago. I thought about getting another pair of Sambas...but even at a sub-$40 price-point...I couldn't really justify buying another pair of shoes just to throw them in the trash again....so I did a little research. I figured I couldn't possibly be the only person to think that these shoes were unfathomably uncomfortable. Almost torturously so. So I googled something like "uncomfortable Samba insoles" or something of the sort...and stumbled upon a true godsend. Some ingenious and benevolent soul uploaded a YouTube video that addressed my exact concern. Come to find out...the Samba insoles are VERY easy to remove. When you do so and flip them over...there is a white rubber piece that is attached with an easily removable adhesive that you can peel the entire arch-support off with literally no effort. Slip the insoles back in, and BOOM....comfortable Sambas. I will admit that even with the ridiculous arch-support removed, there is still a little more arch than I would prefer due to the shape of the shoe in general (I prefer my insoles virtually flat)...but it's the difference between having a pair of shoes I can wear every day...and having a pair of shoes that would go immediately in the trash. If my above description of how to perform minor surgery on your Sambas is confusing, Google "How to remove samba insole" video....it'll be the first thing that comes up on YouTube. It seriously couldn't have been a quicker or easier fix. Without this "hack"...these shoes would be a negative 15 in terms of any kind of comfort unless you like your shoes with a ridiculous amount of stiff arch-support. Hopefully, this review will help someone else that had the same issue like me, because for the price I bought them for (again...I got them for a little under $40) I doubt you'll find a better value on a name-brand shoe...as long as you can comfortably wear them.

The shoes fit great and I modified the tongues so they're short! Definitely better than spending 90-100 bucks on the short tongue versions! Lol simply cut the tongue and super glued them back together. Might sew them later but so far they've been fine. Also, the laces cover up where I cut so no one is the wiser

I am a huge fan of Sambas, and I have been wearing them for years. About two years ago, I ordered a pair from Amazon, and they were great - the same, true product I had been ordering from the corporate Adidas website. However, I was not as satisfied this time around. Immediately upon opening the box, I knew these weren't the same shoes I had previously ordered, even though the page indicated that I had ordered the same item previously.

Appearance: The glue around the sole that attaches it to the leather boot/sock of the shoe is sloppy, chunky, and visible. The sole itself is a totally different "gum" color than the previous pairs I own. I realize the color changes over time, but I have not ever owned a pair whose sole was very dark brown. Some of the eyelets for the shoelaces are not completely punctured, indicating poor factory quality. I would most likely need to stab a knife through the unpunctured eyelet to make way for the laces, but since I intended on returning them I did not do this. Finally, the leather looks incredibly cheap and plastic-y.

Fit/Feel: As soon as I tried the shoe on, I knew it was not the same shoe I have been wearing for years. I have broken in SO many pairs of Sambas, so I am aware that they fit a bit differently when they are new, but these ones felt like stiff, sharp, plastic socks. I have been wearing the same size, 8.5, for 20 years, and the arch on this shoe did not fit in the same spot on my foot as all of my other ones. Also, these ones felt narrower (mostly by the pinky toe) than my other pairs. I have pretty narrow lady feet (which is why I like this style of shoe), so it's rare when I find a shoe that is too narrow for me. These shoes definitely feel like a knock-off. I am just going to pay the extra money and order directly from Adidas.

Designed so they're ready-to-ride with no wear-in time, these shoes draw on Adidas heritage and reimagine it specifically for skateboarding. An abrasion-resistant synthetic suede upper holds up to daily park sessions, while a textile lining keeps your feet comfortable on or off the board. Classic 3-Stripes and a linear Trefoil logo give these shoes a low-key Adidas style.

I think these shoes are beautiful. I wear them almost every day and they are very comfortable. They are stylish and go very well with khakis. My friend has these exact same shoes and he skateboards and says they are great for it. They are grippy to the board and to your feet. If you bought the right size (which by the way these shoes should fit exactly to your shoe size) the soles grip your socks and hug your feet so they won't slip off or anything while you are skating. Even if you don't skate, these shoes are still 100% recommended as they just look very nice. One thing that is worth noting, however, is that the insoles cannot be removed (at least not intentionally) so if you have orthopedic soles, you may want to steer clear of them. Luckily I do not, and honestly, I think the soles in these shoes are comfortable as well. They are slightly firm but I'd assume that may have to do with skateboarding considering these shoes are made for that. Otherwise, I love these shoes and would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants stylish shoes to go very well with khakis or grippy shoes for skateboarding.

Bought these for my boyfriend, he likes them, except when the soles are wet they suction cup to the ground and make a suction "pop" sound when walking on smooth surfaces. The fit is perfect. Comfortable. The only request is that they add more suction for 90-degree incline. Lol.

Awright, so I like the look of these shoes, but they are not comfortable if you have to walk for an extended period of time. All other pairs of Adidas I bought in the past were super comfortable. They were so painful on the soles of my feet that I had to stop and buy some gel insoles on the way to my destination. Luckily I bought them a half size bigger, so they could accommodate the insoles. Also, the back of the shoe rubs on your Achilles, so I had to buy some special cushion pads to protect the back of my feet. I'm giving them a few more days of wear to see how it goes. I'll be returning them if they don't feel better soon.

So this shoe is perfect in all departments minus durability. If it lasted longer than 1 day of skating I'd give it 5 stars, no doubt. Looks super stylish and is comfortable enough for the first wear. I feel like I'd have had these worn in after 2 or 3 more skate sessions, so comfort isn't a foreseeable issue. The fit is as expected, maybe a tad more narrow than your average shoe. In short, this shoe is 5 out of 5 for a lifestyle shoe; HOWEVER, this is a SKATE SHOE! I skated for 3 hours and my shoe deteriorated worse than my years old NIKE SBS. I hate trashing this shoe because I want to love it and did. Unfortunately, when the product just falls apart immediately you feel as if you were robbed or lied to in the advertising. Save your money if you want to skate with these, spend your money if you wish to just use them as the fresh kicks they are. Too bad my fresh kicks almost have a hole in them already.

I didn't expect these to be this comfortable. Wow. Very nice. I usually wear size 13 but went up a half size with these based on previous reviews saying that these shoes are a bit narrow. They are snug, but I think I would have been fine with my normal size of 13. I bought these because I liked the look of them, I won't be skateboarding in these as I'm a 30 something and don't want to break my legs, with that said I don't see these lasting that long scraping across grip tape all day as there really isn't much extra padding where you would scrape your foot to do an Ollie. So I wouldn't use these as your primary skate shoe. I could see walking in these all day with no problem.

These are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I was looking for something similar to ultra boosts because they were getting a lot of positive reviews and compliments but didn't want to pay quite that much.

I bought these shoes for the purpose of a backup pair of running shoes and more casual wear. But these shoes are so comfortable it may become my main pair of running shoes. The shoes feel very light and after a few miles of running the comfort is still great.

The sizing for me is my normal sizing. I like shoes that have a bit of toe room and not super tight. They feel very comfortable almost like wearing a sock. The sole is very flexible and feels bouncy.

The quality seems pretty good. Doesn't feel cheap and has the colors seen in the sample photo.

Could wear these shoes all day, would recommend them as a running shoe or casual wear.

I don't consider myself a sneakerhead by any means but I have been particularly loyal to Nike's phenomenon series because of how they feel on my feet. I'm flat-footed so the support and feel of my shoes can be felt throughout my leg. But even with age, the price of that series has climbed.

Enter these bad boys, for the price I paid I've been nothing but excited about wearing them. They are running shoes at heart, extremely lightweight, and provide good feedback when making contact with the ground. They fit like a sock with a large sole underneath. I have broken my routine of just wearing my work boots to and from my job to keeping these in my car so I can wear them after the day of work is done.

These can serve as just gym shoes or sneakers they are durable (I haven't run in the rain with them yet) and flexible. I've been hunting for the "every day" sneaker and I think I've found them.

These shoes were great - super lightweight, sleek, looked good. Seemed to be of good quality. However, I had to return them because they are a sock-type shoe and have no laces. I have a super high arch and couldn't get my feet in the shoe. That my problem - not Adidas's or the seller's. It was not apparent (to me, anyway) that there were no laces, so I'm writing this review in case anyone else has high arches. You'll probably want to stick with something that has laces. My search for a similar shoe that has laces continues.....

I wear men’s size 91/2 and these shoes fit me perfectly. I prefer Nike Flex whenever I wear running or walking shoes. My wife and I are very active people, so wearing anything on a regular basis aside from these types of shoes usually results in foot pain. I did not think I would ever find a shoe I would enjoy as much as the Nike Flex. It’s like wearing a light cloud on your feet. They are so lightweight, breathable, while also providing support for walking and running that I have yet to come across a shoe that compares. That said, these are a very close second.

Things I like:

1. They look as great in person as they do in the photos. No joke. They look great.
2. They have this great lip on the back that helps you slip the shoe on. There are actually two places to hold the back of the shoe so that you can slip it on. I think this has to do with the fact that for the most part the shoelaces only tighten around the upper part of the food. The bottom part of the shoe isn’t really constricted by the laces. It stays relatively the same size no matter how tight you tie the laces. That may be bad for some, but I greatly enjoy it.
3. They fit and feel just like the Nike Flex, which is what I was hoping for. Between these and the Nike Flex, I don’t see myself owning any other running or walking shoes. The price and durability let alone the comfort and how lightweight they are can’t be beaten. I’ve been running for over ten years, in 5k’s and longer, and though I used to exclusively wear Asics, I have now hung them up. I also wear these on a regular basis because they look so good too.
4. The price is great.

Things I did not like:

1. I don’t like the shoelaces that came with the shoes. This is usually the case with shoes, but in light of the very few cons, in my opinion, I had to find something wrong with the shoes.
2. The white on the bottom part of the shoes are hard to keep clean. I try to keep them clean and looking nice, but once you scuff them, it’s pretty difficult to get it looking the sparkling white they were when you bought them. These are two very small cons, as it would be very difficult to find a shoe that doesn’t scuff or need different laces, but other than these things I did not find any other cons.

Overall, I greatly enjoy the shoes. I’m glad I made the investment while they still had my size. I hope this helps anyone looking for some perspective on their potential purchase.
